You Asked For It  ... You Got It!  Advanced Filtering

11/20/2012

Today, Farmigo released a software update which includes more advanced filtering options from the Subscriptions manager of your Dashboard.  The new filtering system allows you to select more than one item for specific fields.  The new design also provides a cleaner view of your Subscriptions manager.

PLEASE NOTE:  Make sure that the titles of your shares and option do NOT contain a comma.  This is no longer allowed in order for the filters to search for multiple items.

Default

Previously, you would set up the filters that you want to use and then click the “FIND” button.  This button has disappeared and been replaced with an option to apply your selections within each filter.
When you navigate to the Subscriptions manager of your Dashboard, your filters will be set to their default state.  This means that all items or ranges for each filter will be selected - except for the Season filter.  By default, only your active season will be selected under the Season filter.

These filters now allow you to select more than one item per filter.  For example, let’s say that I want to see all my members that pick up their shares from any of the San Jose locations:
  1. Click the link at the top to “Clear” all default selections.
  2. Use the Search bar to find each San Jose location.  As I start to type in “Jos …” search results will be generated automatically. Then I check the box next to these locations.
  3. Click the green “Apply” button.

PLEASE NOTE:  When using the search function, the actions for "Select All" and "Clear" will only affect the search results.

How to Use the Subscriptions & Issues Filters

These filters now allow you to select more than one item per filter and exclude members from your results if they don’t have “all” of the items that you selected. For example, let’s say that I want to see members that have both the egg share and the budget share:
  1. Select “all”* from the drop-down menu at the very top of the filter.
  2. Click the link at the top to “Clear” all default selections.
  3. Use the Search bar to find both the egg share and the budget share. Then check the box next to these shares.
  4. Click the green “Apply” button.

*If I wanted to see members that had either or both the egg share and/or budget share, I would select “any” from the drop-down menu at the very top of the filter.

Thanks for creating this capability. Is there an easy way to extend this to the orders manager?
